Global Experts See Role for Biodiesel at World Food Day Symposium
Experts from around the world are addressing biofuels as they gather today for the
“most significant observance of World Food Day around the globe.” Audio
feeds and photos are available from the event, which honors Nobel Peace Prize Laureate
Dr. Norman E. Borlaug, who sparked the Green Revolution of increased agricultural
productivity. The promise of biofuels as well as greater agricultural productivity
was repeatedly addressed at the World Food Prize International Symposium www.worldfoodprize.org
that began Wednesday in Des Moines, Iowa.
“ It is heartening to see international leaders discussing biodiesel’s
value on World Food Day,” said NBB CEO Joe Jobe. “Food production and
transport are particularly dependent on diesel engines and biodiesel is a crucial
part of bringing energy security benefits to the global food supply.”
